About
Visitr Centr is an American dance rock band led by Chase Duvall from Baltimore, MD. The project fuses post punk, new wave, electronic, indie, and experimental rock influences.
The project came together after Duvall had crafted a vision for Baltimore’s rock scene where four on the floor dance beats, analog sequenced synthesizers, and loud rock guitars reigned supreme.
Duvall was able to turn this vision into reality when he met Alex Girgis (bass), Jonny Green drums), and reunited with former bandmate Jose Andres Ortiz (guitar / synths), in 2022. Ortiz left the band in 2024 shortly after the release of their debut EP and guitars and synths are now helmed by newcomers Scout Maucione and Jenna Marcus.
Duvall came up with the name for the band after backpacking through the American south where he went to write the band’s debut EP “Late Bloomer” before meeting Girgis in the summer of 2022. Duvall had spent many years playing in local DIY and indie rock bands and found himself increasingly frustrated by the lack of originality in many of the bands he was playing in, and desired to make music that was fun and frantic the way his favorite dance music was while also still being able to wear his guitar rock influences firmly on his sleeve.
After several years of learning how to write and produce music, Duvall finally decided to embrace his desire to lead a band after primarily just being a guitarist. He set out to pursue Visitr Centr after getting some encouragement from former bandmates and friends to keep exploring the ideas he was coming up with.
This all finally culminated on 2024's release of their debut EP “Late Bloomer” which was recorded entirely by the band on their own, and mixed by Duvall himself.
The band is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their debut full length album slated for release in Fall 2025.
